The 6-Hour Best of the Yukon Private Tour begins in the Historic Downtown District of Skagway for a view of boardwalks and buildings from the Gold Rush era.

Theis excursion parallels the scenic WP&YR Railroad and offers breathtaking views. On the drive we will travel over the rugged coastal mountain range and see glacier fed waterfalls while amidst the temperature rainforest. Once we make it over the pass we enter Tormented Valley and travel through a 300 year old krummholz forest of “Canadian Bonsai” trees in. This area is rich in history and full of stunning views of glacier fed lakes. There is always an opportunity to see wildlife on the tour such as Mountain Goat, Bear, Moose, Caribou, Marmot and Ptarmigan.

Photo stop options include but are not limited to Tormented Valley, Bridal Veil Falls,  Welcome to Alaska Sign, Carcross Desert and Emerald Lake. This tour provides a variety of backdrops for family and group photos. A stop at Bridal Veil Falls will give you the opportunity to drink ice cold glacier water! This water is collected on site and filtered for your safety.

Once we venture through the high elevation sub alpine forest we will drop in elevation to the Boreal forest and the Southern Lakes Region of the Yukon.

After stopping for a photo at the Welcome to the Yukon sign we will continue our journey into the Yukon Territory. We will visit the small First Nations Village of Carcross which lies along the shoreline of Lake Bennett and offers miles of sandy beaches. The village has a commons area with a visitor center, shopping, coffee and ice cream. If you would like to make a lunch stop here the Bistro on Bennett has a wonderful selection for all. From Carcross we will visit two of the Yukon’s Natural Wonders, the Carcross Desert and Emerald Lake.

The Carcross Desert is known as “The Smallest Desert in the World” and is a great place for a walk in the sand. From there we will visit the stunning Emerald Lake which provides a perfect backdrop for family and group photos. Traveling this far into the Yukon increases our chances of seeing coyote, fox, moose, caribou and bear.
